AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated packages for the 389-ds-base component in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Life Cycle and AUS variants that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update RHSA-2026:36206 promptly to remediate these issues. For detailed update instructions, refer to Red Hat's official guidance at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

Two heap buffer overflow vulnerabilities were discovered in the 389 Directory Server's SASL handling, specifically in sasl_io_recv() via padded SASL UNBIND and due to an integer overflow in SASL packet length. These flaws could lead to memory corruption in affected versions of the 389-ds-base package. Red Hat has issued security updates to address these issues in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 variants.
