Description
A security update for the fence-agents packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux addresses an authentication bypass vulnerability in the python-pyjwt library. This flaw, tracked as CVE-2026-48526, allows attackers to bypass authentication by forging JSON Web Tokens. The fence-agents scripts manage remote power control for cluster nodes, enabling forced restarts and removals of failed or unreachable nodes. The vulnerability could impact cluster management security by allowing unauthorized actions via forged tokens. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updated packages to fix this issue for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support and related variants.
