Red Hat has released updated HPLIP packages that address these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and its extended update support versions should apply the updates provided in advisory RHSA-2026:82883 as soon as possible. The advisory includes detailed instructions for applying the update. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patch.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in the Hewlett-Packard Linux Imaging and Printing Project (HPLIP) packages used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. These include issues that could lead to remote code execution, local code execution, privilege escalation, and denial of service. The vulnerabilities involve heap-based buffer overflows and improper use of cryptographic keys. Red Hat has released an update addressing these issues along with bug fixes and enhancements.
