A security update for Firefox and Thunderbird is available from Red Hat for affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 variants. Users should apply the update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these vulnerabilities. Since the update fixes the issues, no additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patch.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities affecting Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird have been addressed in a Red Hat security update. These include privilege escalations, information disclosures, use-after-free bugs, mitigation bypasses, site isolation issues, race conditions, integer overflows, and same-origin policy bypasses across various components such as Graphics, Networking, DOM, JavaScript engine, and others. The update fixes these issues in Firefox ESR 115.39, 140.14, 153.1, and Firefox 154 versions. The vulnerabilities collectively pose a high security risk and have been rated as important by Red Hat Product Security.
