What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Flatpak packages as part of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 Update Services for SAP Solutions and Extended Life Cycle variants. Users should apply these official patches promptly to remediate the vulnerabilities. For detailed update instructions, refer to Red Hat's advisory and article at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the vendor-provided update.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in Flatpak, a system for sandboxed desktop applications on Linux. These include arbitrary code execution due to missing symlink protection, arbitrary write access as root via extra-data extraction, a buffer overflow on 32-bit systems, and local privilege escalation via symlink traversal. Red Hat has issued an important security update for Flatpak in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 and related variants to address these issues.
