What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released security updates for FreeRDP in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Extended Life Cycle Long Life and AUS variants. Users should apply these official patches as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the vulnerabilities. No alternative mitigations are specified; applying the vendor-provided updates is the recommended action.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). These include denial of service conditions via crafted commands and out-of-bounds reads, as well as remote code execution through heap buffer overflows and uninitialized heap memory disclosure. The vulnerabilities affect the xfreerdp client and related components. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory providing updates for affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 variants to address these issues.
