What to do
AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated FreeRDP packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply these official patches promptly by following the guidance in Red Hat's advisory and update their systems to the fixed package versions (freerdp-2.2.0-12.el8_8.10 and related). No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the provided updates.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). These include arbitrary code execution via malicious RDP files, denial of service through crafted WindowIcon async messages, HTTP proxy request injection via redirection, and remote code execution or denial of service via an audio input integer overflow. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates for affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 variants to address these issues.
