Red Hat has released security updates for FreeRDP in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Life Cycle and AUS variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). These include arbitrary code execution via malicious RDP files, denial of service through crafted WindowIcon async messages, HTTP proxy request injection via redirection, and remote code execution or denial of service via an audio input integer overflow. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates for affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 versions to address these issues.
