What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has not released a fix for this vulnerability yet. Users should monitor Red Hat advisories for updates and consider applying any mitigations recommended by Red Hat. Since the vulnerability involves cross-origin redirects with assert_same_host disabled, avoiding or restricting such usage in urllib3 may reduce risk. No specific mitigation actions are documented in the advisory at this time.

Description

CVE-2026-44431 is a vulnerability in the urllib3 Python HTTP client library used by Red Hat Lightspeed in Satellite. It allows sensitive headers to be forwarded during cross-origin redirects when using the low-level ProxyManager API with assert_same_host set to false, potentially exposing sensitive information. Red Hat has made a new container image for satellite/iop-advisor-backend-rhel9 generally available but has not yet released a fix for this vulnerability.
