What to do

AI-suggested

To mitigate this vulnerability, implement strict input validation to prevent user-controlled property paths from accessing or modifying the prototype chain. Specifically, block strings such as __proto__, constructor, and prototype before passing them to _.unset and _.omit functions. Monitor Red Hat advisories for updates and patches.

Description

A prototype pollution vulnerability (CVE-2025-13465) exists in the Lodash library's _.unset and _.omit functions, which can be exploited by controlling property paths to delete methods from global prototypes. This deletion can cause denial of service by removing essential functionalities. The vulnerability affects applications that use these functions with user-controlled input for property paths. Red Hat Satellite includes Red Hat Lightspeed, which uses Lodash in the pcs-web-ui component; however, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10 no longer includes pcs-web-ui and is not affected. No fix has been released yet, but strict input validation is recommended to mitigate the issue.
