AI-suggested

Red Hat provides a new satellite/iop-remediations-rhel9 container image for Red Hat Lightspeed in Satellite, which may include improvements but does not explicitly fix these vulnerabilities yet. Users should follow Red Hat Satellite documentation for installation and configuration guidance. Avoid processing untrusted or arbitrary brace expansion patterns in Node.js services until a fix is released. Customers with Red Hat Technical Account Managers can seek direct guidance. No urgent remediation is available at this time.

Description

Red Hat Lightspeed in Satellite is a local system health and configuration analysis tool that applies predefined rules to local data without sending information to Red Hat services. A set of vulnerabilities including CVE-2026-9496 affect components related to this product. One notable vulnerability (CVE-2026-102276) involves a flaw in the brace-expansion library that allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by triggering uncontrolled recursion and stack exhaustion via specially crafted brace patterns. Red Hat has released a new container image for satellite/iop-remediations-rhel9 but no fixes for these vulnerabilities are currently available. The vulnerabilities can lead to service interruption but do not allow code execution or data compromise.
