What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 Extended Update Support and Extended Life Cycle Long Life to address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply this security update after ensuring all previously released errata relevant to their systems have been applied. Refer to Red Hat's official update instructions at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 for proper application of the update.

Description

Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) has two security vulnerabilities addressed in an important update. CVE-2024-2698 allows a proxy service to impersonate any user to access another target service due to delegation rule flaws. CVE-2024-3183 enables a user to obtain password hashes of all domain users, facilitating offline brute force attacks. These issues affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 Extended Update Support and Extended Life Cycle Long Life versions. The update fixes these vulnerabilities and should be applied after ensuring all prior relevant errata are installed.
