What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an official security update (RHSA-2024:3755) that addresses these vulnerabilities. Users should apply this update to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and related extended life cycle versions after confirming all prior relevant errata have been applied. Detailed update instructions are available from Red Hat's official documentation. No alternative mitigations or workarounds are specified in the advisory.

Description

Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) received an important security update addressing two vulnerabilities. CVE-2024-2698 allows a proxy service to impersonate any user to access another target service due to delegation rule flaws. CVE-2024-3183 permits a user to obtain password hashes of all domain users, enabling offline brute force attacks. These issues affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and related extended life cycle versions. The update fixes these vulnerabilities by patching the freeipa component. Users should apply the update after ensuring all previous errata are installed.
