AI-suggested

A security update for the Linux kernel packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 is available that addresses these vulnerabilities. Red Hat strongly recommends applying this update promptly and rebooting affected systems to activate the fixes. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official update and rebooting.

Description

This Red Hat security advisory addresses multiple vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4. The issues include a crash caused by an unvalidated pointer in the ATM network code (CVE-2026-31411), an out-of-bounds read in the SMB client filesystem code (CVE-2026-43112), and a privilege escalation vulnerability affecting AMD Zen 2 processors due to improper CPU cache isolation in the Xen hypervisor (CVE-2025-54518). The update also includes bug fixes and enhancements unrelated to security. A system reboot is required after applying the update for the fixes to take effect.
