AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an updated kernel package that addresses these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the update promptly and reboot their systems to ensure the fixes take effect. Detailed update instructions are available from Red Hat's official documentation. No additional mitigation steps are specified or required beyond applying the official patch and rebooting.

Description

This Red Hat security advisory addresses multiple vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. The update fixes use-after-free issues in the eventpoll subsystem (CVE-2026-43074 and CVE-2026-46242) and a netfilter ebtables SNAT target vulnerability that writes to shared memory pages during ARP hardware address rewriting (CVE-2026-53266). These issues could lead to potential memory corruption or instability. The update also includes bug fixes and enhancements unrelated to security. Systems must be rebooted after applying the update for changes to take effect.
