AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated libkcapi packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and its variants that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as detailed in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:67265. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patch.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in libkcapi, a library that allows user-space access to the Linux kernel crypto API. The issues include IV reuse causing cipher state resets across chunk boundaries, memory corruption due to uncanceled asynchronous I/O requests on error, and an infinite loop denial of service caused by unhandled timeout returns. These vulnerabilities affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related variants. A security update addressing these issues has been released by Red Hat.
