AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated libssh2 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as detailed in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:61752 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. Applying these official patches fully mitigates the described security issues.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in the libssh2 library used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support. These include integer overflow via large username or password arguments, heap buffer overflow due to integer overflow in publickey attribute allocation, arbitrary code execution via double-free in SFTP sessions, and information disclosure with potential arbitrary code execution via heap out-of-bounds read. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates addressing these issues.
