AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated libxml2 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in the libxml2 library used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support. These include denial of service, arbitrary code execution via various buffer overflow and use-after-free flaws, data integrity issues due to integer overflow, information disclosure, SSRF, and double-free/use-after-free in Python bindings. The update synchronizes release versions across several RHEL releases and addresses these critical security issues.
