Red Hat has released updated .NET SDK and Runtime packages (8.0.128 and 8.0.28 respectively) that fix these vulnerabilities. Users of affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support versions should apply these updates promptly. Detailed update instructions are available from Red Hat's official advisory and article. No additional mitigation actions are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
.NET 8.0 has been updated to address two security vulnerabilities: a local file tampering issue via link following (CVE-2026-45491) and a denial of service vulnerability in ASP.NET Core caused by uncontrolled resource consumption (CVE-2026-45591). These vulnerabilities affect the .NET SDK and Runtime versions prior to the patched releases. Red Hat has released updated packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support to remediate these issues.
