Description

CVE-2026-49978 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in DOMPurify, a sanitization tool used in Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization v4.14 images. The flaw occurs during in-place sanitization when DOMPurify fails to properly process shadow DOM content within <template>.content elements, allowing attackers to embed malicious JavaScript that could execute when the sanitized template is used. This may lead to unauthorized actions or information disclosure in affected Red Hat products.
