Red Hat has released updated OpenTelemetry Collector packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 and related variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2026:95015) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official update.
Description
Multiple denial of service vulnerabilities and a man-in-the-middle vulnerability were identified in the Red Hat build of OpenTelemetry Collector components, primarily related to golang libraries such as net/http, crypto/tls, net/textproto, and crypto/x509. These issues allow denial of service via crafted HTTP Range headers, excessive HTTP/2 SETTINGS frames, memory limit bypass in multipart parsing, and multiple ECH outer extension references, as well as man-in-the-middle attacks via untrusted intermediate certificates. Red Hat has released security updates addressing these vulnerabilities in OpenTelemetry Collector packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 variants.
