AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated PostgreSQL packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 Update Services for SAP Solutions that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply these official updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No alternative mitigations or workarounds are specified; patching is the recommended action.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in PostgreSQL as distributed by Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 Update Services for SAP Solutions. These include an operating system account hijack via symlink following, a buffer overflow allowing server superuser to overwrite client stack memory, credential recovery via a covert timing channel in MD5 password comparison, and an integer overflow causing an undersized allocation and out-of-bounds write. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates addressing these issues.
