Red Hat has released updated python-pyasn1 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support to address this vulnerability. Users should apply the security update as described in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:59240 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to remediate the issue.
Description
A denial of service vulnerability exists in the python-pyasn1 library due to crafted ASN.1 REAL values. This issue affects Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support versions. The vulnerability allows an attacker to cause a denial of service condition by exploiting the way pyasn1 processes certain ASN.1 REAL values.
