AI-suggested
There is currently no practical mitigation for this vulnerability. The brace-expansion package is typically a transitive dependency, making isolation difficult. Users should monitor Red Hat advisories and upgrade to a fixed version of brace-expansion when it becomes available.
Description
A denial of service vulnerability exists in the brace-expansion npm package used by Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.2. The expand() function can be exploited with specially crafted input containing consecutive non-expanding brace groups, causing exponential-time complexity and significant CPU consumption, leading to event-loop blocking and denial of service. No practical mitigation currently exists, and users are advised to upgrade to a fixed version when available.
