Description
CVE-2025-47273 is a path traversal vulnerability in the Python setuptools library used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI 1.5 (Intel Gaudi). It allows attackers with limited code execution privileges to write files outside the intended temporary directory by manipulating package download URLs, bypassing filename sanitization. This can lead to unauthorized overwrites of critical system files, potentially enabling persistent code execution or system misconfiguration. The vulnerability does not expose confidential data or enable privilege escalation beyond the same security boundary. No patch or mitigation currently meets Red Hat's criteria for deployment.
