AI-suggested
Red Hat provides updated RPM packages for Node.js in Red Hat Hardened Images to fix this vulnerability. Systems configured according to Red Hat guidelines should have service management set to restart services upon process crashes, mitigating availability impact. No other mitigations meeting Red Hat's criteria are currently available. Users should apply the provided updates to remediate the issue.
Description
A vulnerability in Node.js TLS error handling can cause denial of service on TLS servers using PSK or ALPN callbacks. Synchronous exceptions thrown during these callbacks bypass standard TLS error handling, leading to process crashes or resource exhaustion. Red Hat Hardened Images include an update addressing this issue. Systems configured per Red Hat guidelines mitigate availability impact by restarting services on process crashes. No effective mitigation other than applying the update is currently available.
