AI-suggested
No mitigation options currently meet Red Hat Product Security criteria for ease of use, deployment, applicability, or stability. A fix is being pursued by Red Hat for the affected components. Users should monitor Red Hat advisories for the release of patches and apply updates once available. Until then, caution should be exercised when interacting with untrusted web content in development environments using the affected .NET SDK versions.
Description
A moderate information disclosure vulnerability (CVE-2026-58649) exists in the .NET SDK used in Red Hat Hardened Images. The vulnerability arises from insufficient origin validation in the dotnet watch BrowserRefreshServer, allowing a remote unauthenticated attacker to connect to a development WebSocket and retrieve compiled intermediate language assemblies and debug files. This could expose confidential information from the development environment. Red Hat rates this issue as medium severity with a CVSS 3.1 score of 6.5. A fix is currently being pursued but not yet available, and no effective mitigation meeting Red Hat's criteria is currently provided.
