AI-suggested

Red Hat advises always mounting /dev in container configurations, which is the default for Podman and crun. Do not run untrusted container images with configurations that omit mounting /dev. Since supported Red Hat container tooling mounts /dev by default, no immediate action is required for typical deployments. No fixed release is available yet; monitor Red Hat advisories for updates.

Description

A vulnerability in crun allows terminal setup to redirect /dev/console to an attacker-controlled path if the container configuration does not mount /dev. This can enable an attacker to create root-owned files outside the container root filesystem. Default configurations that mount a fresh /dev are not affected. No fixed release is available yet, but supported Red Hat container tooling mounts /dev by default, mitigating the issue.
