AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated python3.12 RPM packages as part of the Red Hat Hardened Images update to fix this vulnerability. Users should apply these updates to remediate the issue. No other mitigations currently meet Red Hat's criteria for ease of use, applicability, or stability. Monitoring and applying the official update is the recommended course of action.

Description

A vulnerability in Python's profiling.sampling module and asyncio introspection capabilities allows a malicious Python process to read and write memory addresses within a privileged process via remote debugging. Exploitation requires repeated connections and may cause instability. This issue can lead to information disclosure and arbitrary code execution. Red Hat has issued an update for Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs including Python 3.12 packages to address this issue. No mitigation other than applying the update currently meets Red Hat's criteria.
