AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated RPM packages that fix this vulnerability. Users should apply the provided updates to Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs, including grafana13.2-13.2.0-0.1.1.hum1. Additionally, sanitize all user-supplied integer inputs to the nanoid and customAlphabet functions to ensure the size parameter is a non-negative integer, preventing the infinite loop condition.

Description

A vulnerability in the nanoid JavaScript library's non-secure module allows an attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by passing a negative size parameter to the customAlphabet or nanoid functions. This input causes an infinite loop, hanging the NodeJS event loop and disrupting service availability. The issue affects Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs including grafana13.2. A fix has been released in updated RPM packages.
