Apply the Red Hat update for python3.14 RPMs (version 3.14.4-1.hum1) as provided in the Red Hat Hardened Images update. No other mitigations are currently available or recommended by Red Hat. The vendor manages remediation through this official update.
Description
A stack overflow vulnerability exists in the python pyexpat module used in Red Hat Hardened Images. This flaw occurs when parsing XML documents with deeply nested Document Type Definitions (DTDs) using an Expat parser with a registered ElementDeclHandler, leading to a program crash. The vulnerability can cause denial of service but requires specific conditions for exploitation, making attack complexity high. Red Hat has released an update for python3.14 RPMs addressing this issue among others. No mitigation other than applying the update is currently available.
