AI-suggested
A fixed version of the python3.10 packages is available (3.10.21-1.4.hum1) and should be applied to affected Red Hat Hardened Images. No other mitigations are currently recommended or available that meet Red Hat's criteria for ease of use and stability. Users should update to the fixed RPMs as provided by Red Hat.
Description
A vulnerability (CVE-2026-7210) was identified in the python3.10 packages included in Red Hat Hardened Images. The flaw involves insufficient entropy in the hash-flooding protection mechanism of the xml.parsers.expat and xml.etree.ElementTree modules, allowing a remote attacker to craft malicious XML documents that can trigger a denial of service (DoS) condition. The impact is limited to causing a DoS in the Python runtime. Default configurations of Red Hat systems are not affected. No mitigation is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use and stability.
