AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated python3.12 RPM packages (version 3.12.13-3.2.hum1) that fix this vulnerability. Users of Red Hat Hardened Images should apply these updates promptly. Red Hat states that no other mitigations currently meet their criteria for ease of use, applicability, or stability. Therefore, applying the official update is the recommended and effective mitigation.

Description

A security flaw was identified in Python's http.cookies module affecting Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs. The vulnerability (CVE-2026-6019) involves improper neutralization of the </script> HTML sequence in the Morsel.js_output() function, which can enable Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks. This could allow remote attackers to inject malicious scripts into web pages, potentially leading to information disclosure or arbitrary code execution in users' browsers. Red Hat has released updated python3.12 RPM packages to address this issue. No mitigation other than applying the update is currently recommended by Red Hat.
