AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated grafana12.4 RPMs (version 12.4.10-0.7.hum1) that fix this vulnerability. Users should apply these updates to remediate the issue. Additionally, to mitigate the vulnerability, avoid using DOMPurify with custom IN_PLACE sanitization configurations that include element-removal hooks. Default DOMPurify configurations are not affected and require no action.
Description
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability (CVE-2026-75838) was found in the DOMPurify library used by Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs, specifically in the grafana12.4 package. The flaw occurs during IN_PLACE sanitization when element-removal hooks fail to neutralize detached subtrees, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript by supplying crafted HTML with event handlers. This vulnerability requires a non-default DOMPurify configuration with an element-removal hook and user interaction with malicious content. The issue is fixed in the updated grafana12.4-12.4.10-0.7.hum1 RPMs provided by Red Hat. Users are advised to avoid using DOMPurify with custom IN_PLACE sanitization configurations that include element-removal hooks. Default configurations are not affected.
