Red Hat has released updated resource-agents packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Extended Update Support that fix this vulnerability. Users should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:58834 to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patch.
Description
A security update for the resource-agents package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux addresses a denial of service vulnerability in the pyasn1 library caused by crafted ASN.1 REAL values (CVE-2026-59886). The resource-agents package supports high-availability environments by providing scripts for service managers like Pacemaker and RGManager. This vulnerability could allow denial of service conditions if exploited.
