Description

CVE-2025-22874 is a vulnerability in the Go crypto/x509 package used by Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer (RHTAS) that allows improper certificate validation. When VerifyOptions.KeyUsages includes ExtKeyUsageAny, certificate chains with policy graphs may bypass certificate policy validation. This flaw can enable an attacker to trick the system into accepting invalid certificates, potentially allowing spoofing attacks and weakening system integrity. Confidentiality and availability are not affected. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform ships golang 1.23 which does not include the affected code. No fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for deployment and stability.
