AI-suggested

Currently, no mitigation is available or meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use, deployment, applicability, or stability. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform ships golang 1.23, which does not include the affected code, effectively mitigating exposure for that product. Users should monitor Red Hat advisories for any future updates or fixes. No urgent action is required if using unaffected versions.

Description

CVE-2025-22874 is a vulnerability in Go's crypto/x509 package that allows improper certificate validation. Specifically, when VerifyOptions.KeyUsages includes ExtKeyUsageAny, certificate chains with policy graphs may bypass certificate policy validation. This flaw can enable attackers to trick systems into accepting invalid certificates, potentially leading to spoofing attacks and weakening trust decisions. Confidentiality and availability are not impacted. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform's golang 1.23 does not include the affected code. No fix or mitigation meeting Red Hat's criteria is currently available.
