Users should monitor Red Hat advisories for updates. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform golang builder container is not affected. Customers with a Technical Account Manager (TAM) can consult directly for guidance. Upgrading to versions that include a fix, if and when released, is recommended.

Description

CVE-2025-22874 is a vulnerability in Go's crypto/x509 package that allows improper certificate validation. When the VerifyOptions.KeyUsages includes ExtKeyUsageAny, certificate chains containing policy graphs may bypass certificate policy validation. This flaw can enable attackers to trick systems into accepting invalid certificates, potentially allowing spoofing attacks and weakening trust decisions. Confidentiality and availability are not affected. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform's golang 1.23 builder container does not include the affected code. No fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for deployment and stability.
