AI-suggested
Users should monitor Red Hat advisories for updates. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform golang 1.23 does not include the vulnerable code, so using this version avoids exposure. Customers with a Technical Account Manager (TAM) can consult directly for guidance. No immediate action is required beyond staying informed.
Description
CVE-2025-22874 is a vulnerability in Go's crypto/x509 package that allows improper certificate validation. Specifically, when VerifyOptions.KeyUsages includes ExtKeyUsageAny, certificate chains with policy graphs may bypass certificate policy validation. This flaw can enable attackers to trick systems into accepting invalid certificates, potentially allowing spoofing attacks and weakening trust decisions. Confidentiality and availability are not affected. Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform's golang 1.23 does not include the affected code. No fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use, applicability, or stability.
