Upgrading to a future fixed version when available is recommended.

Description

CVE-2025-22874 is a vulnerability in the Go crypto/x509 package that allows improper certificate validation. Specifically, when VerifyOptions.KeyUsages includes ExtKeyUsageAny, certificate chains with policy graphs may bypass certificate policy validation. This flaw can enable attackers to trick systems into accepting invalid certificates, potentially allowing spoofing attacks and weakening trust decisions. The vulnerability affects Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer (RHTAS) used with OpenShift Container Platform versions 4.15 through 4.19. Confidentiality and availability are not impacted. No fix is currently available that meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use and deployment.
