Exploitation requires an atypical large unchunked payload exceeding 4GB in a single SSH write operation, which is uncommon in typical environments. No additional mitigation steps are specified by the vendor at this time.

Description

CVE-2026-39834 is an integer overflow vulnerability in the golang.org/x/crypto/ssh package used by Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer (RHTAS) Model Transparency Go CLI. When a remote attacker attempts to write a payload larger than 4GB in a single SSH channel write call, an integer overflow causes an infinite loop sending empty packets, resulting in a denial of service (DoS). This vulnerability does not affect confidentiality or integrity but can cause process hang and resource consumption. Exploitation requires an atypical large unchunked payload, limiting realistic exposure in typical environments.
