AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Ruby packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2026:37397) and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. Applying these updates will remediate the vulnerabilities. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the Ruby Net::IMAP library affecting Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support. The first is an IMAP command injection vulnerability via symbol arguments (CVE-2026-42258). The second allows information disclosure by bypassing TLS through a man-in-the-middle attack (CVE-2026-42246). Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates to address these issues.
