AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Samba packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in Samba, an open-source implementation of SMB/CIFS protocols used for file and printer sharing. The issues include missing access checks on reparse point operations, improper blocking of directory modifications in vfs_worm, unvalidated use of HTTP in group policy certificate enrollment, and remote code execution vulnerabilities in the printing subsystem and SAMR. These vulnerabilities affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 variants and have been addressed in updated Samba packages.
