Technical Analysis

This advisory covers three security vulnerabilities in Red Hat Satellite 6.15.5.5 and related components. CVE-2025-57833 is a SQL injection vulnerability in Django's FilteredRelation column aliases. CVE-2025-57052 is an out-of-bounds access vulnerability in the cJSON library's decode_array_index_from_pointer() function triggered by crafted JSON pointer strings. CVE-2024-49761 is a Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability in puppet-agent's REXML component. Red Hat has released updated packages to remediate these issues and recommends users apply these updates.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could lead to SQL injection attacks, out-of-bounds memory access potentially causing crashes or memory corruption, and denial of service conditions via ReDoS. These impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Red Hat Satellite system management environment.

Mitigation Recommendations

Red Hat has released updated packages for Red Hat Satellite 6.15.5.5 and related components that address these vulnerabilities. Users should upgrade to these updated packages as soon as possible. Before applying this update, ensure all previously released errata relevant to the system have been applied. Refer to Red Hat's official update guide at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 for detailed instructions.
