What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Squid packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and its variants to fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in Squid, a high-performance proxy caching server. CVE-2024-23638 allows a Denial of Service (DoS) attack against Cache Manager error responses. CVE-2024-37894 is an out-of-bounds write error that may also lead to Denial of Service. Red Hat has issued a security advisory with updates for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and related variants to address these issues.
