AI-suggested
Users should upgrade to the updated RHEL-8 based Middleware Containers container images available from the Red Hat Container Registry as per RHSA-2025:11386 and RHSA-2025:10698 advisories. It is also recommended to rebuild all container images that depend on these updated images to ensure the patches are fully applied. Dockerfiles and scripts should be updated to reference the new image versions. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
Red Hat has updated its RHEL-8 based Middleware Containers container images to address multiple security vulnerabilities, including several related to Python's tarfile extraction and libxml2 library. These updates include backported patches that fix issues such as directory traversal, arbitrary writes, heap use-after-free, type confusion, and buffer overflows. Users are advised to upgrade to the updated images and rebuild dependent container images to mitigate these security risks.
