Description

A vulnerability in AIOHTTP allows an overflow in Max-Age processing that can prevent closing of connections, leading to temporary exhaustion of the connection pool until garbage collection intervenes. This affects versions from 0.4.3 up to but not including 0.6.9. The issue does not require user interaction or privileges to exploit and has a low impact on availability.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111065 describes a flaw in AIOHTTP where an overflow in the Max-Age processing logic can cause connections to remain open instead of being closed as expected. This behavior can lead to exhaustion of the connection pool temporarily, as connections accumulate until garbage collection eventually frees them. The vulnerability affects AIOHTTP versions >=0.4.3 and <0.6.9. No known exploits are reported in the wild. The CVSS 4.0 vector indicates a network attack vector with low impact on availability and no required privileges or user interaction.

Potential Impact

An attacker can cause temporary exhaustion of the connection pool by exploiting the Max-Age overflow, which may degrade service availability until garbage collection resolves the open connections. There is no indication of privilege escalation, data disclosure, or persistent denial of service.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available for this vulnerability. Users should upgrade AIOHTTP to version 0.6.9 or later to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.
