Until a fix is available, restricting untrusted software from making GPU system calls or running with elevated privileges may reduce risk.
Description
A vulnerability exists where software running as a non-privileged user can perform improper GPU system calls, causing a race condition in the hardware performance counters buffer destruction path. This race condition may lead to use-after-free (UAF) scenarios due to non-atomic decrementing of reference counters, allowing kernel heap memory to be read or written improperly.
