AI-suggested

A patch is available in AnyIO version 0.5.1 that addresses this issue. Users should upgrade to version 0.5.1 or later. As a temporary workaround, closing sys.stderr in the target function can prevent the deadlock caused by the filled stderr pipe.

Description

AnyIO's process-pool workers have a vulnerability where stderr is connected to a pipe that is never drained. This can cause the pipe to fill and block indefinitely if the worker writes enough data to stderr, leading to a deadlock in the process-pool call. The issue affects versions from 0.0.16 up to but not including 0.5.1. A fix is available in version 0.5.1. Closing sys.stderr in the target function can serve as a temporary workaround.
