0
High
Published: 07/10/2026 (07/10/2026, 21:16:00 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: rabbitmq-server

Description

A vulnerability in RabbitMQ prior to versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6 allows disclosure of the OAuth 2 client secret via the obsolete GET /api/auth endpoint. This occurs when the management plugin and management.oauth_client_secret configuration are enabled, exposing sensitive credentials to unauthenticated callers. The issue is fixed in the specified versions.

Technical Analysis

RabbitMQ versions before 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6 contain a vulnerability where the obsolete GET /api/auth endpoint can disclose the OAuth 2 client secret. This affects RabbitMQ installations configured with management.oauth_client_secret and having the management plugin enabled. The exposure allows unauthenticated attackers to retrieve sensitive OAuth credentials. The vulnerability is resolved in the fixed versions listed.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to obtain the OAuth 2 client secret from RabbitMQ servers configured with management.oauth_client_secret and the management plugin enabled. This credential disclosure can lead to unauthorized access to OAuth-protected resources or services relying on these credentials. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in RabbitMQ versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6. Users should upgrade to these or later versions to remediate the vulnerability. There is no indication that temporary workarounds or other mitigations are provided or required beyond applying the official fix.
